MILL CITY SUMMER OPERA WHISKS YOU AWAY TO BUENOS AIRES, THE BIRTHPLACE OF TANGO.
María de Buenos Aires beautifully merges the elements of dance, vocals, narration and instruments into a story that unfolds in a glorious underworld of love and passion. Although the heroine dies a tragic death early in the story, she returns ethereally throughout the performance, and the audience too, can abandon realism. Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla has written an operetta that audiences will experience in a profound way. Opera guests will enjoy for the first time in Mill City Summer Opera’s history the integration of dance and opera. Explore the Argentinian roots and love of dance, song, and passion!
